In 2019, the world population was around 130 million, and Japan’s population at the time was 7.7 billion.
It is approximately 2% of the world population.

During the time, Nikkei BP Consulting, Inc. investigated “oldest established companies world-wide”.
Japan had the highest number of companies over 100 years old in the world, even despite only having under 2% of the world population.

(1) One of the 67,000 companies that are ever 100 years old globally, 33,000 of them are in Japan.
→It is nearly half of all companies from around the world.

(2) The companies over 200 years old, 1300 out of the total 2100 globally reside in Japan.
→This make up 60% of all companies in the world.

We believe the lifespan of companies is about 30 years.
To become long life companies are almost a miracle, and their business means equal to be needed and demand in the society so long.

Although Japan is a small country, there must be “something” that allows for Japan to have ownership of so many longevity companies.
